Wheat's Guitar Scales

The C Major Scale

The C Major Scale is the foundation of Western music theory — seven notes, no sharps or flats: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. If you already know the C Major Pentatonic patterns, you already know five of those seven notes. The Major Scale simply adds the 4th (F) and the 7th (B), filling in the gaps. Those two added notes give the scale a fuller, more classical sound and open up a wider range of melodic possibilities.
