The second of the five patterns of the G Natural Minor scale is pictured below. We are also including the first pattern here so you can see the overlap between the two. As in Lesson One, the first diagram shows the scale intervals of each note:

Homework
Play pattern two up and down until it becomes familiar to you. Play along with a metronome at a slow to medium tempo. Focus on playing well rather than playing fast (speed will come with time).

After you have pattern two down, start picking out small groups of notes at random. When you find patterns you like, repeat them until you have memorized them. These will be your pattern two licks.

After you are familiar with pattern two, try finding runs that begin in one pattern and end in the other. For instance, fine a run that starts in pattern one but then shifts to pattern two. Or, find a run in pattern two that ends in pattern one. Become familiar with shifting between the two patterns so that it becomes second nature to you.
